25% Student Discount

Here at the Haunted House I have always felt my prices for sample libraries were very fair compared to the rest of the market, but I also appreciate that students these days don't have a lot of money.

I firmly believe in supporting students as much as possible as they represent the innovators of tomorrow. This is why I have set up a student discount scheme were as a student you can get a whopping 25% off our libraries.

Posted on 5/5/2011 11:33:24 AM by admin

I have just been shown a link to an awesome and FREE midi Arpeggiator plug-in called Kirnu.

Kirnu : The Awesome FREE Midi Arpeggiator

The plug-in looks very flexible, probably one of the most flexible arpeggiators I have seen. Even better than Arpache in Cubase. You should be able to do some pretty cool basslines and lead lines with this. Read More....

Free Sample Downloads from Haunted House Records

Posted on 5/5/2011 8:02:05 AM by admin

For many people new to this site and blog I would just like to tell you that you can download lots of free samples and loops from this site.

These are the demo packs to all my larger sound libraries, and I think we have been quite generous with the amount of content in these packs.

You can use these samples freely in your music, that includes if your music is being released commercially. In fact, if you do use any of these samples in your work then I would really like to hear it as I love hearing music people have created using my samples :-) You can either post a link to your music in this posts comments, or you can get in touch with me directly by email.

Have fun creating!!!! Read More....

When I am working on music and sound design I tend to start work on a lot of things at once and then refine them over a period of time until I am at a point where I decide to start getting them finished ready for release.

Fission EP from Create

The first of these releases is a new ep for my project, Creature. This ep is called Fission and is the first Creature release since 2009's Continuum and Continuum remixes. Read More....

Amon Tobin : ISAM

Posted on 5/2/2011 2:07:33 PM by admin

Amon Tobins latest sound design opus 'Isam' is now out and it really is a great feast for anyone into sound design. The album takes a much less dancey break beat feel to his previous sampledelic work.

Amon Tobin : ISAM

This album is a real opus of ambience and digitally-sculpted sound collage and is a real joy to listen too. Read More....

Korg Monotron

Posted on 4/30/2011 3:44:38 PM by admin

I so have to get me one of these little Korg Monotrons!!!! :-)

I think the guy in the video is right, most people would probably get one of these just for running external audio through the filters, and I think that is where I would get most of my enjoyment.

Posted on 4/30/2011 3:22:44 PM by admin

I just found this cool video from someone demonstrating how to create Hans Zimmer style spiccato patterns. It's quite a long video at around 15 minutes, but it was quite interesting.
